We like the Giants over the ‘Skins: Week 3 Thursday PicksPosted: September 24, 2015
Here are Will and Derek’s picks for the Week 3 Thursday night game. Picks for the remainder of the games will run on Friday.
(Home team in caps. Line per VegasInsider.com consensus.)
NEW YORK GIANTS (-3) vs. Washington
Derek: The Redskins have been surprisingly scrappy through two weeks, while the Giants have been surprisingly incompetent. The Giants should be 2-0 right now, but somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the fourth quarter. Surely this won’t continue. I typically favor the home team on Thursday night games, and the Giants are the better team. I say the Giants end their slide this week.
But my picks have been so bad this year that you can pretty much guarantee Matt Jones is breaking the single game rushing record tonight.
Will: Washington has been running the hell out of the ball and gave up a solid 27 points in their first two games combined. Just a week ago I was saying that I wouldn’t pick them at all this season, mostly operating under the assumption that everything Dan Snyder touches turns to shit. But they’ve looked damn good, and the Giants’ leading rusher has 64 yards so far this season. 2015 may just be a bad year for the Manning clan.
AND YET: I’m taking the Giants. I ain’t about to touch that Snyder stench.
